My Aunt’s Vanilla Ice Cream

This recipe is very simple to make. My aunt improved the quantities of ingredients year after year, so I recommend that you do not change the quantities described below.

Equipment

  • Ice cream maker

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • pinch Salt
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl add all of the ingredients and mix until combined.
  • If you don’t want just plain vanilla ice cream you can add fruit, chocolate chips, or even nuts as desired. If you have a regular ice cream maker, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and mix for about 20 minutes.
  • Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and freeze until firm (it takes about 4 hours) or freeze it according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The ice cream is ready to serve!

Notes

If you have a Ninja Creami or similar, you need to freeze the mixture for about 24 hours before using the machine.
