Lately, I’ve been making a lot of chocolate chip cookies because I discovered this amazing recipe! I used to spend at least an hour making my favorite cookies, but now, in just 20 minutes (yes, 20 minutes!!!), they’re ready to enjoy!
This recipe is super simple! Just 10 minutes to mix all the ingredients and another 10 minutes to bake the cookies.
In 20 minutes, you’ll have around 20 freshly baked cookies ready to share (or not!).
Trust me, the recipe is easy, but the result is absolutely delicious.

20-Minute Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature (110g)
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (150g)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
- 1 1/2 cups plain flour (180g)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder (7g)
- 1/2 tsp salt (3g)
- 1 1/3 cups chocolate chips (200g)
Preheat the Oven!
First of all, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In about 10 minutes, we’ll be ready to bake these delicious chocolate chip cookies!

Follow Me NowStep 1: Mix the Butter & Sugars
In a large bowl, add the room temperature butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat them together until you have a smooth, creamy mixture.


Step 2: AdicionAdd the Egg & Vanilla
Next, add the egg and vanilla extract, and continue beating until everything is well combined and homogeneous.

Step 3: Add the Dry Ingredients
Now, incorporate the flour, baking powder, and salt. To make mixing easier, add the flour gradually (for example, half at a time). Mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing!


Step 4: Chocolate Chip Time!
Fold in the chocolate chips (I used cooking chocolate, chopped into small pieces). Mix well so the chips are evenly distributed. Your dough is now ready!

Step 5: Shape & Bake!
Use a spoon (or ice-cream scoop) to portion out some dough, then roll it into a ball with your hands. If you like, you can form all the cookie dough balls at once and bake only half, freezing the remainder to enjoy fresh cookies another time.
Place the cookies in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. When you take them out, they will still be soft – so let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before enjoying!

And before you go… I almost forgot… Don’t forget that you can (and should) freeze this cookie dough to have fresh cookies whenever you want! Just freeze them in a sealed container and always separate them with parchment paper.
The cookie dough balls should not touch each other, otherwise it will be difficult to separate them once they are frozen.
You can keep cookie dough frozen for 2 to 3 months and it won’t spoil! When you want a super fresh cookie, just place it directly in the preheated oven (without thawing it first!).
