What Makes This Tiramisu Different?

Generally, traditional tiramisu uses raw eggs. However, this version skips them completely. This means you don’t need any fancy mixing techniques, and if you have an allergy to eggs, you can enjoy this snack without worries.
In addition to this, the chocolate chips add a little hint of sweetness in every bite. They make your tiramisu taste super delicious with a bit of crunchy texture.

Easy Chocolate Chip and Coconut Tiramisu Recipe

I will share everything you need to know about the ingredients and the preparation process for making chocolate chip and coconut tiramisu with you right here.
Ingredients:
- 200 – 250g ladyfingers (savoiardi)
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso, cooled
- 250g mascarpone cheese
- 200ml heavy cream
- 3 – 4 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup shredded coconut (plus extra for topping)
- ½ cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
- Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)
Easy Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Make the cream
Whip the cold heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.

Gently fold in the mascarpone until it is smooth and fluffy.

Stir in the shredded coconut and chocolate chunks.
Step 2: Dip the ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee. Be careful, don’t oversoak!
Now, just leave each side for just 1-2 seconds and remove.
Step 3: Layer the tiramisu
In a dish or platter, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers.

Spread half of the cream mixture over the top of the layer.
Repeat this process with the remaining ladyfingers before creaming.
Step 4: Top and chill
Before chilling, sprinkle extra coconut on the top. Let it chill for at least 4hours or overnight… And it’s done! Feel free to garnish it with fresh mint before serving.

What Kind of Coconut Works Best?
For me, unsweetened shredded coconut or desiccated coconut works perfectly. They bring the balance you need, especially because of the mixture of flavors involved.
Now, if you only have sweetened coconut, you can use it. However, reduce the sugar in the cream mixture. This prevents your tiramisu from coming off as TOO SWEET.
Can I Use Chocolate Chips Instead of Chunks?
Yes, you can!
Chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bars both work well. Mini chips are also a fun option because they spread out more evenly, giving you a smoother, more consistent-textured tiramisu.
Either way, you are winning. Just use what you have and what you love.
This is what I love about chocolate chips and coconut tiramisu. It is super flexible and adaptive to everyone’s taste and preference.

Can you see how easy it is to make this snack? I am sure you are ready to give it your first try.
You don’t need to be a professional chef to make it. If you can stir and layer, you are already good to go.
I can’t wait to see the excitement on your face as you enjoy every bite!
