I LOVE making smoothie recipes for my nephews! I like to innovate, add different toppings and do something different, as you may have noticedโฆ
The last smoothie I made for them was this simple recipe, with strawberries and yogurt, with a Ninja Creami (you don’t need one for this recipe, don’t worry!).
Don’t be fooled, this recipe is simple! It may seem very complex in the image above, but the truth is that you’re just seeing mini chocolates and whipped cream, nothing more!
So, if you want a smoothie that will leave any child speechless, check out my special recipe below. If my nephews like it, any child will like it!
The Smoothie Even My Picky Eaters Kids LOVE

As you will notice in the list of ingredients below, there are many ingredients that are optional. You can make this smoothie with just 2 ingredients, yougurt milk and strawberries.
However, I recommend that you put in a little effort and add more ingredients, believe me itโs worth it!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt (regular or Greek style)
- 1 cup trimmed and sliced strawberries (or frozen strawberries)
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Maple syrup, agave, or honey (optional)
- Mini chocolate bars (to decorate)
- Whipping cream (to decorate)
Instructions:
If you have a Ninja Creami, everything will be very simple, you will just need to put all the ingredients in the Ninja and choose the smoothie option. It’s done! Check out the step by step below.

Follow Me NowStep 1 – Blend Ingredients
Add the yogurt and berries to the blender. Blend until very smooth, approximately 30-60 seconds.
Step 2 – Adjust Flavor
Taste the mixture. Add a few drops of fresh lemon juice and a little sweetener if needed.
The amount of sweetener and lemon juice will depend on the natural sweetness and tartness of your fruit.
If the mixture tastes bland or flat, add both lemon juice and 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of your preferred sweetener. If the taste is satisfactory, no additional ingredients are necessary.
Step 3 – Add the toppings!
Place the smoothie in a pretty glass and pour whipped cream on top, until you have enough whipped cream to cover the top of the glass (just to make it look prettyโฆ).
Now, place mini chocolates on top of the whipped cream. Alternatively, you can add sprinkles, honey, cinnamonโฆ Whatever you want!
Step 3 – Serve or Store
Serve the smoothie immediately. Alternatively, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days. Shake well before serving if stored.

And it’s done! The smoothie that kids love so much is ready in just a few minutes.
