Follow Me Now- The first step is to make the marinade. All you need is a bowl. Pour all the ingredients into it and whisk them together.
- After properly mixing the ingredients, season with salt and pepper (to taste).
- Place the chicken in a dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Ensure all pieces of your meat are well-coated.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to 8 hours. This is how to get the best flavor.
- Remove your chicken from the marinade and let the excess drip off.
- The next step is to cook your marinated chicken. Here are 3 ways to achieve that:
- Grill: Cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes per side.
- Bake: Roast at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes until internal temp reaches 165°F.
- Pan-Sear: Cook 5–6 minutes per side in a lightly oiled skillet.
- This is optional: Top your well-cooked marinated chicken with lemon slices and fresh herbs before serving.
- Serve with roasted potatoes, rice, or green salad. Although this marinated chicken pairs with almost anything. So, feel free to add any dish of your choosing.
How to Marinate Chicken for Maximum Juiciness!

For maximum juiciness, leave your chicken in the marinade for up to 8 hours.
You should not overdo it. The acidic elements in your marinade will tenderize your meat. However, when your chicken stays longer than necessary, it gets mushy.
A major game changer is to ensure that your chicken is well-coated.
If you are using a dish, flip the chicken halfway through to coat both sides. For a zip-top bag, press out the extra air to get the marinade in close contact with your meat.
Easy Substitutions and Flavor Variations

Do you want to mix things up or use what you already have at home? This marinade recipe is flexible. You can swap ingredients for a slightly different flavor.
- Use lime instead of lemon: They both have that zesty kick, but lime adds a tropical vibe.
- Instead of rosemary, opt for parsley: This gives your marinade a milder, fresher taste.
- For a spicy kick: Add chili flakes to the mix. It gives that extra hit, especially on cold days.
Let’s finish!
With this marinade, your chicken will always turn out flavorful and tender.
The best part is that it is hassle-free, which means less “active” cooking time.
