I’m constantly buying Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough ice cream! Seriously, constantly, all the time! It’s my favorite ice cream, hands down!
I recently remembered to look for a Cookie Dough recipe to try to replicate theirs (with my vanilla ice cream made with the Ninja Creamy) and, to my surprise, they’ve shared their recipe publicly with everyone!
I decided to get my hands “dirty” and make the recipe. Guess what? It turned out exactly the same!
Ben & Jerry’s Copycat Edible Cookie Dough

Ingredients:
- 8 tbsp. unsalted butter (1 stick), room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup chocolate chunks
Easy Step-by-Step:
Making this recipe is really basic. For me, the most important part is microwaving the flour; you can’t skip this step. This kills any bacteria that may be present in the flour (because we’re not cooking it!).
Shall we begin? Let’s go!
First, gather all your ingredients.
Heat-treat the flour to make it safe to eat by microwaving it in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until it reaches 165°F.

In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in the vanilla, cream, and salt, then add the treated flour and blend well.

Fold in the chocolate chips/chunks.

I used half/half. I used half dark chocolate and half milk chocolate. That’s how I usually do it!

And… It’s done! If you want, put it in the freezer (I like it!) to make it firmer.

Now, if you want, you can eat it with a spoon.
I prefer to make lines with the Cookie Dought, put it in the freezer, and break it into squares to add to my ice cream made with the Ninja Creamy.

So, did you like my recipe? I hope so! I recommend using this cookie dough along with this vanilla ice cream recipe; I trust you’ll love it.
