This is where things get interesting!

In this section, you will access all the information you need concerning the making process of this classic marble cake.

Read carefully and follow all the instructions.

Ingredients (1 loaf):

  • 150g (⅔ cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 150g (¾ cup) sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 200g (1 ½ cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Easy Step-by-Step:

Step 1: Preheat and Prep

First of all, preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).

Line your loaf pan with parchment paper. You can also grease it with oil.

Step 2: Make the batter

Now, in a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until it is creamy. Add eggs and properly mix.

Next is vanilla before adding flour and baking powder. Mix everything until it is smooth.

Now, if the batter feels thick, add milk.

Step 3: Divide and flavor

Spoon half of the batter into another bowl.

Next, add cocoa powder to one-half and mix until it is well combined.

With this, you have vanilla batter and a chocolate batter in separate bowls.

Step 4: Layering and Swirling

Alternate spoonfuls of each batter in the loaf pan.

Then, use a knife to gently swirl the batters together (1-2 swirls).

Step 5: Bake

Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let it cool before slicing.

Your marble cake is READY!

How to Get That Perfect Marble Swirl Tip

This is very simple!

When making the swirl, gently drag the knife through the batter ONCE or at most TWICE in a zigzag motion.

Overmixing blurs the colors, which takes away the beautiful contrast you want to achieve.

Important Storage Tips & Serving Ideas

If you want to keep the marble cake for a long time, just store it in an airtight container. This way, it can last for up to 3-4 days. I won’t recommend any longer than that. It would taste and texture.

For a classic snack (breakfast or brunch), feel free to serve it with coffee. Sometimes, I warm it slightly and serve it with whipped cream for an extra fluffy texture.

Either way, you can always get creative with how you want to enjoy your marble cake.
