My Easy Homemade Granola Bars – Packed with Nuts & Dried Fruit

Homemade granola bars are an absolute delight!

They are chewy, crunchy, and packed with just the right amount of sweetness. However, it can be quite difficult to know how to make them. A lot of recipe guides are out there on the internet, leaving many people confused.

Well, I have gone through that too in the past, UNTIL I decided to find out what works.

Luckily for you, I will share everything I discovered and experimented with you in this article.

Why I (Really!) Love These No-Bake Granola Bars

No-Bake Granola Bars

I love these no-bake granola bars because they are fast to make and healthy to eat.

With no oven needed, you won’t have to worry about heat, especially during summer.

This snack checks all the right boxes. I can throw everything together within a few minutes and have my bars ready for munching.

Easy Homemade Granola Bars Recipe

No-Bake Granola Bars

Below are the ingredients you need. Furthermore, you will discover the simple preparation steps to follow while making your granola bars.

Let’s dive in!

Ingredients (Makes 8 – 10 bars)

With these ingredients, you can make between 8-10 bars. However, if you have a crowd to feed, simply increase the quantity of each ingredient.

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (like almonds, walnuts, or pistachios)
  • 1/3 cup chopped dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, apricots)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, or pistachio)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional: 1 tbsp chia seeds, coconut flakes, or chocolate chips

Easy Step-by-step:

  1. Warm the honey and nut butter in a small saucepan. Ensure it is smooth and pourable.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine oats, nuts, fruit, and salt.
  3. Pour the warm mixture over the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir everything together for proper coating.
  5. After that, press the mixture into a parchment-lined loaf pan. You can also use a small packing dish.
  6. Pack tightly for firmness.
  7. Chill the loaf in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before slicing it into bars.

These tips will make all the difference!

For that extra effect, consider using these tips. Trust me, they make a whole lot of difference.

  • If you want your bars to hold together well, use soft, dried fruits.
  • Wet your hands slightly before pressing the mixture into the pan. It avoids sticking.
  • Store the bars in the fridge for up to 1 week as a perfect snack-on-the-go

Can I Mix and Match the Add-Ins?

Yes, you can!

The best part about making your granola bars is that you can make them JUST THE WAY YOU LIKE. Therefore, feel free to get creative with different add-ins.

If you want, toss in dried mango, coconut, chia seeds, chocolate chips, and so on. Whatever you prefer is fine.

Optional Toppings or Coatings Idea

This is optional, but it adds an extra depth of flavor to your bars. You can try each out and decide if you want to continue adding them or not.

  • If you want your bars to have that extra smooth feel with a layer of sweetness that pairs perfectly with the crunchy texture of granola bars, drizzle with chocolate.
  • Sea salt brings out the natural flavors of all the ingredients used for your granola bars. It adds a depth of flavor, and brings the perfect balance to taste.
  • Sometimes, I press shredded coconut into my bars. It adds to the chewy texture and also brings a naturally sweetened flavor that makes every bite satisfying.

Homemade granola bars are better than store-bought ones because you can get creative with them, saving you from eating a boring, bland snack.

Give this recipe a try, and I’m sure you will enjoy every bite.
