Follow Me NowI love high-protein recipes, but I’m picky about one thing: the texture has to feel like real dessert. If it’s airy, bubbly, or tastes like protein powder, I’m out.

That’s why I started making this thick chocolate mousse that sets in the fridge and looks like the ones you see served in little glass cups. It’s smooth, rich, and spoonable, and the best part is it has 50g of protein per serving.
This is my go-to when I want something sweet after dinner, but I still want it to be filling!

High-Protein Chocolate Mousse With 50g of Protein Per Serving

Ingredients for 1 Glass (50g Protein)
- 170 g high-protein Greek yogurt
- 150 g chocolate skyr (high-protein)
- 35 g casein or whey-casein protein powder (chocolate)
- 8 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1–2 tbsp milk (only if needed)
- Sweetener to taste
- Pinch of salt
Optional topping (like the photo): chopped pistachios
How to Make It
- Mix the base. Add the Greek yogurt and chocolate skyr to a bowl and stir until completely smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients. Mix in the cocoa powder, protein powder, and salt. Go slowly at first so it doesn’t clump.
- Adjust the texture. Only add milk if you need it, and do it a little at a time. This mousse should be thick enough to hold clean layers in the glass.
- Chill to set. Spoon into a small dessert glass and smooth the top. Refrigerate for 2–3 hours.
- Top and serve. Add pistachios right before serving.

My Tip for the “Perfect Glass” Look
If you want it to look super neat, I like to wipe the inside rim of the glass before chilling and then smooth the top with the back of a spoon. It sets better when it goes into the fridge already thick, so I try not to add too much milk.
