Follow Me NowPinterest made me do it! I kept seeing candied orange peel everywhere, and I had to try it at home. And honestly… it’s one of those recipes that looks fancy, but it’s actually super easy.
The peels turn out sweet, chewy, citrusy, and a little bit sticky in the best way. Plus, your kitchen smells amazing while they simmer.
I also love that it’s a “no waste” kind of recipe, you’re turning something you’d normally throw away into a snack that tastes like candy!

Follow Me NowWash the oranges well. Peel them and slice the peels into thin strips (try to keep them similar in size).
Step 2:
Place the orange peels in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Drain and repeat 2 more times (This helps remove bitterness and makes them taste sweet!)
Step 3:
In the same pot, add the sugar and water. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
Step 4:
Add the peels and simmer on low heat for 35–45 minutes, until the peels look glossy and slightly translucent.
Step 5:
Remove the peels and place them on parchment paper or a cooling rack to dry for 1–2 hours (or overnight for a firmer texture).
Optional Step 6 (Pinterest Look!):
Toss the peels in sugar once they’re mostly dry for that sparkly candy finish.

Some Tips (You’ll Love!)
Before you leave, I have a few simple tips that you’ll love!
- Save the leftover orange syrup for tea, pancakes, or cocktails.
- For extra flavor, dip the dried peels in melted dark chocolate.
- Store in an airtight container so they stay chewy and fresh.
