Homemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Cranberry sauce just got better with this simple recipe! Read on to find out more about the 6 simple ingredients you need, and my simple-step process.
Ingredients:
- 300g (about 3 cups) fresh cranberries
- 120ml (½ cup) freshly squeezed orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
- 150g (¾ cup) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 60ml (¼ cup) water
Easy Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Prep the ingredients
Rinse the cranberries and zest the orange.

Juice the orange until you get about ½ cup of juice.

Step 2: Combine in a pot
Add all the ingredients to a medium saucepan.

Step 3: Cook the sauce
Simmer over medium heat and let it cook for up to 15 minutes.

Make sure you stir the mix occasionally until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.

Step 4: Blend or mash the sauce (optional)
If you want a smoother texture, mash the sauce with a fork or blend with an immersion blender.

However, you can leave it chunky too if it’s your preferred texture.
Step 5: Cool and serve
Cooking’s done! Let the sauce cool completely and serve chilled or at room temperature.
