I love Sourdough Bread, but the recipes are very complex and time-consuming. So I decided to look for an equally delicious, but (much) easier alternative!
Jorge and I made this bread recipe on Sunday night in less than 1 hour, then let the dough rest overnight, and baked it the following Monday for about 40 minutes. And that’s it, the bread is ready!

It’s a recipe that you can make with practically any type of flour and it almost always turns out well! I’m really sure you’ll love it because it will leave you questioning all the other complicated bread recipes!
Are you ready to see the entire step by step? I hope you like it, because we tried really hard to explain everything with our photos.
4-Ingredient NO KNEAD Bread Recipe – Easy Sourdough Alternative!

Honestly, I’m not going to give you any great alternatives for changing ingredients, because I’ve never made the recipe with other ingredients. I’m afraid of giving you recipes with other alternative ingredients and it won’t turn out well.
Ingredients:
- 3 Cups all Purpose Flour
- 3 Tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1 and 1/2 Cups of Warm Water
Step 1: Mix the Ingredients
Combine the flour, yeast, salt, and water in a large bowl. Mix everything together until a sticky dough forms. Using your hands often makes the process easier, but a sturdy spoon works just as well.

Mix to combine all the ingredients. Aim for a texture similar to what’s shown in the photo for the best results.
Step 2: Cover the Dough and Let it Rest
Now that you have the dough ready, you just need to let it rest. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 8 hours. I let mine sit for 10 hours, but 8 hours is more than enough.

When you look at the dough after 8 hours, it better have risen by at least 50%.
Step 3: Preheat the Oven
First, preheat the oven to 480°F (250°C) with the pan inside.
While the oven heats up, we can prepare the bread dough!
Step 4: Lightly Knead the Dough
Throw flour on the kitchen counter, put the dough on top and knead a little. Pull one end of the dough towards the center and press. You should do this about 6 times all around the dough.

To finish, shape the dough into a ball by tucking the seams underneath with your hands. This step helps create a smooth, even surface.
Step 4: Transfer the Dough to the Preheated Pan & Bake
Carefully transfer the bread dough onto a sheet of baking paper and place it inside the preheated pan (or Cast Iron pan) in the oven. Don’t forget to cover the pan with the lid—this step is essential for trapping steam and creating a perfectly soft, airy texture.

Bake the bread in the oven, covered, for 30 minutes at 480°F (250°C).
After 30 minutes, carefully remove the lid from the pan and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

This final step creates a beautifully crunchy and golden crust, making the bread irresistibly delicious!
The end result speaks for itself… A delicious bread, ready to be spread with butter!

So, are you going to try this bread recipe tonight?!?
